Wanted Phase 2 cam & Accuralite pistons

Any body got a Avonbar phase 2 cam for sale, or know where I can get one. I was planning on buying new one, but just been on Avonbars website and they seem very expensive £122 for reprofile and £240 for billet. Why are they so expensive, when you can get normal cams for £70ish and SW5 billet for £120. I'm also after some accuralite pistons, any ideas expect Avonbar

go direct to accralite for the pistons. the cam i have no idea

i payed 72 quid for my phase 2 in early '07 from avonbar
and accralite sell direct at a shade under 400 quid, but are usualy out of stock and send you to avonbar

I bought a set of +20 18cc dished forged Accralite pistons in Feb 2007 for £382.98 + VAT + carriage which = £459.40 from Hythe Performance Parts in Thorpe Lea Road, Egham, Surrey on the outskirts of London www.hytheperformance.co.uk 01784 452233 sales@hythperformance.co.uk.

They specialise in all sorts of 'go-faster' bits for Minis.

I put a Mini gearbox back together & couldn't figure out what I'd done wrong so I took it to Hythe Performance & within a few minutes he told me the one of the 'top-hat' bushes was back-to-front so he is very knowledgeable & helpful.

as for the cam avonbar ask for ian or vince you will need to send him your old cam or buy a billet one for around a tad under £300

That's cool Benross, but back in 2007 the money I paid seemed to be a good deal, plus I was buying from a supplier I could trust.

The cost of the parts didn't magically rise by £180 overnight like it did when I gave my card details to a Mini speed performance parts supplier to purchase an exhaust manifold. The supplier took £340 from my card instead of £160 as we had agreed, when I spoke to the supplier, he denied that he had originally asked for £160.

A Specialist parts supplier sent me a K100 conversion kit in which some of the parts was incomplete & the finish of the other parts was polished aluminium with several score marks on it!

Hythe Performance on the other hand sent out the orders promptly & at competitive prices.

In 2007, I couldn't 'google' anything because I didn't have a laptop nor could I use one, so I had to try to get people to do it for me on their PC etc. You had to have nerves of steel to get my ex to do it for you on her Mac

After speaking to Ian at AVR Technologies I found he will supply forum members the Avonbar Phase 2 cam for £91 or £200 for billet. Thats a saving of £30/£40 quid.

Maybe worth posting it in the good parts suppliers bit, might get over looked here.
