Just to say a big thanks to JohnK for taking the time and trouble to show me around SC's facilities this morning and show me some of the latest projects they are working on close up and just spend a fair bit of his own time chatting generally.

Very impressive and makes me want to get outside and finish mine even though it is still freezing cold....

So, thanks again John. :)

Did you get to see the new car for the 7 port?

I seriously doubt it!

Does the gold car actually run? *smiley*

If I remember correctly - there was a lot to take in in a short space of time - it was the shell on its side with all the structural repairs complete and had just had the underside sprayed.
I looked at the engine itself all assembled - the billet head is impressive, the sheer fact they can get all the waterways etc machined inside it. is quite a concept. John said the machine that did it is designed for batch runs overnight (programme it and leave it to run) and it has enough tools loaded to do 30 billets in a run, either 30 the same or 30 completely different projects.....

I think John said not since the photoshoot - I was more interested in the traction control and it's now being fitted with a modulating boost controller and have gear related boost control as well as traction control from their Typhoon ECU...

Just as interesting, maybe more so, is what they are doing with developing the modern common rail diesel engines of which there were a couple of examples in their workshop.

And while I think about lying on a freezing cold concrete garage floor to work, their engine build bay is upstairs and carpetted !!!
