ripped this off a freelander yesterday at a local scrapper and managed to get its for the grand sum of a tenner :)

i searched the whole scrapper and the two suatable ones i found where this and 1 of an old 800 rover turbo, the rover one had awkward angles of the outlets if used with the normal mounting points aswell. it seems a good size, a bit bigger than the renault 5 one i currently have and was previously planning to use but not too big to take up my whole engine bay.

planning to mount it on the left of the engine mounted horizontally of the head studs, i will make some sort of framework and use the 4 pointed bits as mounts if you get what i mean.

any1 else use used 1 of these as it seems a good size?

I bet my first wank came quicker than your first mini turbo

These new modern turbos with their quick spool up time, would make the competition harder.

yes the 800 one was deeper but smaller, probably around the same size overall. i was looking tho and just thought... hmm how can i work that, this just semmed alot easier.

theres a pristine condition 205 rad there. brand new looking infact i had my eye on instead of the side mounted one, but i thought i better wait till my engines in and take some measurments lol

went to get a metro fan aswell to put on the rad instead of the engine driven unit untill i get a front mounted.. but when i saw it i though... *surprised* another day lol.

metro fan is huge! I threw a load away last week. Get one of the slim fans of ebay if you go front mount. I've had a couple and they are fine and about 1/3rd the depth of a metro one.

i was going to get a metty one to run on a side mount for now, will be going front but maybe not straight away, will wait to see what space i have left etc, then measure up and go scrapper, that 205 front rad looked a treat so hopefully that is still there and fits

So which scrappy did you get it from. Was it Burtons?

wow, you have done a fantastic job on that one benjamin! is this just for look or for flow improvments too?

makes this intercooler look massive in comparison to the zx one.

Black body emitters/radiation - black things absorb/give up heat more easily. Or something like that...
