Thanks, is that a tube welded directley to the arch or did you make some kind of bracket up?

Just welded directly.

Its not really a proper brace tube, i'd prefer that the rear legs of the cage attached at the top of the arch so it would all tie in nicely.

cheers chaps.

im just fitting a carbon floor, and got a bit worried about loss of strength, to much flex etc..

do you think this is necessary?

Iv got one on my clubman estate, but i have just welded the bard directly between the top of the turrets.

I intend to weld in a bar between the two rear arches, on the inside of the cabin, more as a harness bar than anything else. I was going to drill a hole in each arch for the tube to pass a little through for better support

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

so is it a good idea to brace this if the boot floor is changed or will it not make much difference?

anyone using a carbon boot floor and standard subframe - any issues?

Thats why I'm intending to weld the bar between the two turrets, to keep it all rigid.

I'd imaging quite a lot of ridigity would be lost removing the rear suframe and boot floor.

I was planning to brace it that much, go for what is basically a spaceframe with a non-removable body

In boost we trust

To complete the effect tie the brace bar into the floor/strong structure or you'll just make a big parralelogram (sorry about spelling) which will flex about rather than stiffening the arch structure up.

If Carling made Mini engines
it would probably be like this one!
