I VE GONE AND GOT MY SELF A MOTOR TO BUILD UP NOW AT THE MIN IT IN CRATES BUT THIS IS THE REASON FOR JOINING TM IT'S1340 LUMP CAME WITH AE 21253+0.60" PISTONS... NOW FISRT QUESTION ARE THEY ANY GOOD FOR TURBO BUILD..... THE CYLINDER HEAD IS NOT A TURBO UNIT BUT ALLREADY HAVE ONE OF THEM .. HEAD THAT CAME WITH THE BUY HAS 35MM.INLET AND 30MM EX IT HAS CB INSIDE A TRIANGLE PRINTED ON THE BLOCK SIDE OF THE HEAD... IS ANY ONE FAMILAR WITH THIS STAMP? IT HAS A STANDARD MG METRO CAM WITH IT BUT I WAS GOING TO DUMP IT FOR A PIPER 270 ... THE ENGINE IS STRIPED TO IT'S BARE NUTS .APART FROM A CENTRE MAIN STRAP ANY ONE GOT ANY RECOMENDATIONS THROUGH HIS BUILD IS MUCH APRECIATED.... |

You'll need uprated pistons, maybe 15cc or 18cc dished forged to lower the compression ratio from standard. Maybe fit MG Metro Turbo pistons, but they'll only lower the compression ratio to about 9.4:1 so you can't run much boost, you'll grenade the engine with loads of boost & 9.4:1

the 21253 pistons will be fine if you have the dish machined a bit bigger in them and some head work to drop the CR to a reasonable level. On 20th Oct, 2015 Tom Fenton said:

n/a mg metro cam will make good power with a turbo. On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:
