Only 25% lighter? I made my standard ones 20% lighter.

What do they mean light road use?

I seriously doubt it!

leeds/wakefield.

i imagine the 25% is an all up saving on an assembles hub,
remember there is nothing you can do about the weight of the bearings and ball joints,

which is why i used spherical bearings on the Dons front setup.

Does light road use translate as "these will probably bend, and when they do hard luck"?
Or is that just for the rear swinging arms?

Does it not mean that it may not be good if used daily? It is odd.

Any one who rallys their mini wont be fitting any of the light weight ally components such as hubs and radius arms. Standard parts dont last one stage of the Rally GB, so how far would you get with the ally ones?

I would only use such items on a track car, and even then I would be cautious of the rumble strips

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

It looks like you could put two callipers on each side.

Could it be that the light road use be due to maintenance required.. like Willwood 4 pots because they dont have dust seals, however when used in competition they will be maintained more.

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

That's how they are supposed to be, that way it's one side fits both I guess. No more, "I put it on wrong" stuff.

I would like to know what they mean though, as I was thinking of putting these on my car which is my daily driver(about 100 miles a day).

Herne Bay, kent

cheaper than minisport ones and better? well we will have to wait and see

when i was at bill richards maybe year and half ago now he had the very first trial set just delevied and he rekoned taht they where going to be near on a £1000. they where fooooking light though and look sexual! these mated up to some ally drive flanges would be awesome although like said above i wouldnt wana hit a kurb on the track hard with them therefore i wouldnt want them on the road as the pot holes atm are worse than the rings kurbs!

Its got to be something to do with the bearing pre load needing regular checking - so theyre not a fit and forget item

I seriously doubt it!

If you can afford a pair of KAD hubs, you can afford to ring them up.

I have a set of these (got them before they where online).

I think the road use thing is because of salt and crap and general lack of maintenance. It just bare aluminum with no surface threatment.

About the preload on the bearings, the should just be nipped up, not torqued to the high value one normally use, due to crush. This probably will mean regular checks.

They are about 1 kg lighter than stock items.

One thing I like is the metro balljoints :)

leeds/wakefield.

But surely you need the big nut ripping up to the usual/critical torque other wise the cyclic progression will have it loose in no time,

this could probably be catered for somehow?

I know they have tested it on several cars, so if that was very problematic I doubt they would have gone forward with it.

Anyway, time will tell :)
