hello and welcome,
i went metro turbo as it came up handy.
its by no means the best way, though.
Different turbo types work for different requirements. So best to set a target of power you want, and what you plan to do with the car. ie. road track etc.
Then you can find a setup that suits youbest.
You might get it together for a grand, but you could spent tens of, if you wanted.

The best of luck, search on here and get a feel for whatyou need/want first.
regards
colin

Hello and welcome

Personally I would get your desired block/head combo and work from there. Both 998, 1100 and 1275 will work with the right turbo. Deciding a spec up front and sticking to it will save you more cost and hassle in the long run - I know from experiance...

Apart from the pistons there's nothing all that special about a metro turbo engine. Couple that with the thrashing that they are likely to have had, then imho they are over priced due to the mythes surrounding them.

have a look in the show us your's section. there are allsorts of builds in there covering most variants of engine, body and turbo choice.
