Hi all,
Anyone know of a good one i live near yeovil so the closer the better but i want to know if there is one with a good reputation and is affordable i have a resonable amount of work to be done for me on a number of engine parts.

A little further afield for you, I've used Hurley's in Bath for cylinder head work before.

Long shot but Tim Styles Racing in Bridgewater ?

Did loads of Mini stuff for me in the '90's but might be into VW's too much now.

I'd go for Steve Harris at BJ Autobits / Harris Engineering personally, from where you are.

Gaball, I currently have items with both Steve Harris and Slark. They both come with a good pedigree. Recently though, I have found that Steve Harris has been messing me around a bit, he keeps putting my work off. Slarks, also very good, but since their relocation to new premises aren't totally geared up in their machine shop. Some of their work gets subbed out to Alan Jeffery in Plymouth who also has a long mini history. Next time I need any work doing it will be going to,either Tipton garage, Alan jeffery or Hamlins enginering in Bridgwater.

What do you need doing? If it's basic machining then you might try Auto engineering in Chard. Never used them but could be worth a phone call as they're on our doorstep.

Thanks everyone have a few names to try now

+20 rebore, con rod work (shot peening, distressing, polishing), 11 stud drill, crank nitriding

called Hamlins today they said they can do most of the work for me its just the con rods that they cant (can do some of it myself though i suppose)

id personally use slarks as aposed steve harris based on my personal experiences, and if your in yeovil there only down the a303

Try Pete Landa at Sigma Engineering in Gillingham. He doe's a lot of mini tuning...
