Since I only have MK1's I have no experience of these.
Do you get much fresh cool air from them?
Are they ducted to the front of the car?

Paul

I seriously doubt it!

Yes they are ducted and find them pretty effective, especially if the window is cracked slightly to help with the pressure differentials.

In a daily drive they are very useful.

Yes Paul - good but ......

The LH passenger side eyeball vent tends to blow warm air into the car as the duct supplying it under the inner wing passes behind the radiator and picks up the warm air blowing out under the wheelarch. Good if you want a side window demister !

The RH drivers side is good as long as the plastic inner wing duct is fitted to scoop the air coming through the grill. If you have removed it in order to fit an intercooler or other kit then the eyeball is not so effective as there's no 'force feed' other than what you get from under the RH inner wing.

I have fitted them to the van as they were not there at all and I just so happened to use the later inner wing repair sections that had the ribbed vertical stiffeners and vent holes. I have a Honda motorbike fan fitted in my inner wing in lieu of the scoop and the drivers air supply is barely noticeable. As I said, only really any good with the scoop fitted IMO but a bit better when the sliding windo is cracked open a smidge.

Richard.

Minivanless, but reluctantly happy living with the decision. There'll be another one day.

i have all the kit but never really knew how it worked, i thought the puller cable for the heater just adjusted the water bypass (if thats what its called) on the engine so never inderstood how it decided to take it from the wings.

does any one understand what ive written, if not i can have another attemt *tongue*.

im going to get all my heater and cold air system working in mine now, (going for the do it properly way) so can any1 explain how the cold air blowers work?

No heat ever comes through the fresh air vents, only fresh air. (accepted that it can get warm from passing the radiator)

i understand that. what i dont get is how it decided to take it from those 2 vents rather than the matrix when the cable only controlls the valve on the engine. or am i confused?
