hi there!
i have standard 1989 mini metro turbo engine, i want to change clutch but i do not really now which one i should go for!

the best would be cheap and good as usual :)

i am planning to get around 150bhp from it so i am considering to change all what needs to be changed to get it!

It would be nice to get some feedbacks from smart people who already done it :)

i found this clutch kit

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...IT#ht_593wt_939

are they will be ok? or i need something better to make sure it is working not only with 90bhp but with 150 as well??? :)

do i need to change my fly wheel as well, for lighter version?

and how can i check, if i have pre-verto or verto?

thank you a lot! :)

Nothing special!

Well from the blurb it suggests that it's not as good as a grey, with 150bhp you'll need a grey, so no use.

Search for 'RTS clutch' to find a good solution.

Other than the RTS you'll need to convert to pre-verto.

If it's a "standard" Metro turbo engine simply altered to fit in a Mini, it will be verto unless someone previously converted it to the earlier type.

To tell, Verto has a short arm and the slave cylinder mounted on a steel plate pointing downwards at 45 degrees to meet the short arm, pre-verto has a long arm with the slave cylinder mounted horizontally on top of the alloy housing.

EDIT - that is assuming they used the right arm/cylinder combination to match the clutch..... the only way to be 100% certain is to take the cover off...

If it is straight out of a 1989 Metro there won't be a slave cylinder. It will be cable clutch.
