just about to order my side moutns for my corbeau revolution but not sure if i should get ally or steel.

are the ally ones up to fia standards or do they have to use stell ones. not that im bothered about fia but will the ally ones be strong enough for my 18 stone ha

I knocked mine up out of some 5mm ally, much lighter then the 3mm thick steel I was going to use.

I've used steel ones because these are thinnner, and allows me to fit the seat closer to the centre of the car. Every bit helps.

I've got both, ally for the drivers seat as it's lighter and steel for the passengers seat as it's cheaper, in fact I think they might have been free.

Very good point V, I've offset my drivers seat by almost 2'' towards the centre of the car

My new mounts are being made this week,using steel as im welding it to the cage.

On a side note my seat is also offset into the centre of the car,overlapping the side of the tunnel by a decent amount.
