With modern trailers what is it that allows the trailer to be reversed without applying the brakes ?
There are auto reverse couplings and auto reverse brakes, so how do they work.
Does the coupling sense which way the force being applied from so as to apply or not the brakes ? but if this is true what about the brakes, I can't see how the brakes can sense what direction the wheel is turning, or is it just that the shoes have a leading edge on both ends of the shoe.

My brakes just don't work in reverse, even with the hand brake on. It's all inside the drum, the reverse rotation forces the shoe away from the drum

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

Mine uses Alko axles and they are the same as wil's.

They do stop the trailer rolling backwards with the handbarke on, but like wil says, if you are actually reversing and push the head in, the will not stop you going backwards.

Works very nicely!

So unless your doing a reversing race with the trailer and need the braking power from it, you'll be fine *smiley*
