Im thinking about customising badges to go on my grill and boot,
this will involve cutting and sticking bits together.
Im guessing its some sort of casting that would be difficult to weld. So maybe JB weld etc would work?

I think they are normally a really rubbish grade of ally with lots of impurities in.

You can get custom badges/stickers made by "Roofless" on "The Mini Forum" AFAIK.

the badges on mine are made from chrome vinyl, I rather like them:

A chap called Mike on TMF made them for me, I believe his username over there is Racing green.

Only charged me a tenner for both of them too!

yea, really very good quality, almost perfect replicas. the rear is just chrome vinyl, and the front is chrome vinyl on a black background. the front is about 70% size though as I felt the one it's modelled on is a little big

To the OP. Forget trying to weld it. As said, araldite will do the trick.

Thanks everyone, this is what i am planning for the front. I think the araldite will be plenty strong enough.

Maybe a complete custom one for the rear?
