I have been busy at work and knocked up a few trigger wheels, not wanting to tread on Mr Fentons toes but these are much simpler than a machined ppulley, simply bolt on the same as triggerwheels.com

these are much simpler than a machined ppulley How can a trigger plate, that requires the end user to accurately drill and tap the original pulley in order for the trigger not to run eccentric or out of true, be "simpler than a machined pulley", that requires the end user to remove the original, and fit the machined one in its place? I've no problem with you selling your trigger plates. But I do have a problem with you quoting mistruths in a bid to undermine the ones I offer.

when a mate fitted his one, it was very simple, drill and tap 2 holes.. no real complexity to it, with yours its sending at away to be machined..

How can that ever be central without some serious measuring equipment? just for impartiality I don't like the idea of machining a damper either lol! On 5th Sep, 2011 Vegard said:

If like me you machine the outer edge of the damper then fit a trigger ring so that the teeth only protrude half their hight above the outer diameter of the damper, you are pretty much adding almost the same weight you machined off. Its not exact, but it has to be close.

I have never being keen on ether method, but it has to be done. 3 fixing points would be nice, also a CAD template printed on card showing you where to drill could be a nice addition? |

I can appiciate what your saying, but with a vernier it really isn't that hard to get running decent enough, a mate has fitted one using nothing but a steel rule with no problems, looking at the trigger wheels its 40quid, I will add another hole for mounting today..

I understand what you mean, thinking on your toes, like it.. from memory its just 50mm to clear the socket, will measure a pulley and can adapt the wheel to fit.

Yep thats where mine is.. I don't think it will fit with a belt drive kit tho. It screws to the tapped holes already in the pulley..

Just lasered out new design with 3 mounting points, to do this the 15mm holes have now become 11mm to stay on same pcd |

Would it be easier if the 3 mounting holes were elongated holes following the circumference of it, maybe 10mm long each.

Then it would all be symettric again. EDIT - and the 36 (minus 1) tooth pattern is based on a divide by three angle anyway. Edited by Rod S on 30th Mar, 2010. Unless you plan to use the center hole to aid mounting, why not just leave 5-10mm inside the mounting holes and chop the rest out? Edited by maccamcvey on 30th Mar, 2010. |

What I do not understand with these trigger wheels is why have the extra mass of the middle section when its fixed near the outer edge? On 30th Mar, 2010 maccamcvey said:
