I think you'll find Mr Austin invented doing it like this...

You could roll the car wherever you want but if you can't crane the engine up then it wont come out of the car

With that very same plank as a ramp. And we were two *wink* Was easy - we just lifted the plank as it was over the sill and let it slip down in the footwell. But wasn't as easy to lift it out again with no helping hand. So the sunroof had to go.

@MarkGTT:
I didn't roll the car at all.

Cheers,
Jan

That was just a transport :) Got it for free, but had to collect it 'immediately' so the Mini had to do the job :)

But that thought crossed my mind... Why not leave it there and run a shaft from the diff to front & rear and make it a midengined 4WD? *happy*

Bloody hell !

It's a wonder the inner sills and footwell welds didn't pop and the whole lot end up on the road with you driving over the top of it !

Fair play to you buddy.

I can remember carrying a 75 ltr compressor tank in the passenger space in my old injection Cooper once, about 4 ft long and 12 inches diameter. That was scary.

Richard.

Minivanless, but reluctantly happy living with the decision. There'll be another one day.

I like that a lot, I've had to do that before with 2 engines, one engine and box in the boot, and one box on passenger floor and engine on passenger seat,

Turbo parts collector at the moment, almost ready.
