ok, i live in sydney australia and i just found out there is goin to be a law braught in by June to stop people under the age of roughly 18 driving tubro'd cars where as you used to be able to drive a turbo car when you are 16, i'v spent the last 6 months rebuilding my mini clubman which i am also half way through turboing so it will hopefully be finished by my 16th birthday in May..........so now what do i do with the car, i havnt got the room to just store it for 2 years, its not finished so i cant sell it for anything, every one else in my family who can drive has a car, im truely f*uking piss'd off! this law is supposed to stop young people getting kill'd on the roads but its just as easy to kill yourself in a pulsar as it is in a high power sports car if you dont have the experience, they should make it compulsery to do a few extra driver learnering corse's after you get your licence, i think that would make more of a difference. yea but if i get caught it's loss of licence, also it kinda defeats the purpose of turboing my car, i wont'd the fact that it was turbo to stand out, i guess i kinda wont'd to show it off, my dad recons i should put it together as a N/A engine and just ceep all the bits for a conversion but that means i'v got to pull the car back down and rebuild it again when im 18. I dont realy know what to do 998 turbo |

put a stealth valve on which you turn on top to make noise quiet or load as fcuk! then make a nice fancy cover to hide turbo under!(weld the bonnet down!lol)

i dont know about the average copper over there but here they wouldnt know a turbo from a wiper motor, just dont put a dumper on it as that will obviously give you away |

Dont then, the only thing giving it away on mine would be the dump valve and plenum chamber, just get a big weather shield over it all! Previous Engine: 1040cc Morespeed engine, 1275 turbo head T2 Turbo Mirage Manifolds Megajolt

when your a p plater.....yep, pritty much, d cops hear will pull you over for anything, the problem is that i realy wont'd to show off the fact i'v put in all the effort to turbo the car, buga it, i'll just make a cover for just about the intire engine bay and say its to stop the electricals getting wet or some bullshit excuse 998 turbo |

yea, either way im screw'd..........i think i'd prefer to get caught driving it opposed to not drive it for 2 years, the law isnt in yet so im wating to see what the igzac penalties are, and the insurance here is as bad, im not insuring my car anyway, i think im payin $12000 for the car start to finish and it would cost me roughly $8000 a year in insurance.......thats more than i earn in 2 years.

i'de think long and hard before driving without insurance, dunno about in oz, but over here uninsured drivers are considered complete arseholes, mainly because it pushes everyone elses insurance premiums up and if they have an accident the othere person would have to either find the money themselves or try and get the money from their own even if the accident is not their fault. hmm, not sure on that, i think over here if you crash in2 sum 1 else's car and you arnt insured you still have to find the money to pay for the other person's car but its just that you dont get any moeny from the insurance agentsy to help with the damage to your car, if you cause an accadent then you pay for all the damage with or without insurance, plus i wont be driving the car every day, probably once a week at the most, i'v spent to much on it to risk crashing it on the way to school 998 turbo |

i just had a chat to my old's about it and they said they were going to get 3rd party insurance wich means if i crash my car into you the insurance company pays for your car but not mine, and what i said in the last post is pritty much true, if i crash into someone else without any insurance, than the other persons insurance company comes after me for the repair money 998 turbo |

Of course more power equals more accidents. Maybe I'm getting old, but I sure am a much better driver now then when I was 18 (which is the limit in Norway) The fact that kids may drive cars legally when 16 kinda scares me.

My opinion on the matter- I personally believe that it in principle is a good idea.

i like the idea of a 1380 turbo engine, i'll just have to do my best at hiding it all then.....i think the pipes going all over the engine bay might give it away though

driven so i dont realy have the rite to say
