Whats the Deal with these speed ratings. Like Some tyres are rated at N which is 89mph (irrc). What happens at 89mph? Do they just explode or do they deform/become unable to take impacts?
1/4 Mile 14.3secs 96Mph Terminal 10psi of boost.

From memory it is the highest speed the tyre can withstand for an hour at this speed without getting over heated, I remeber reading it somewhere years ago, i imagine a quick google search might confirm this
Got A GTM With A Honda In the Back, and huge Nitrous bottle where the passenger seat should be when racing!

Well if thats the case its no big deal then if its rated at 89, since all ya can do 70 on the roads 1/4 Mile 14.3secs 96Mph Terminal 10psi of boost.

Ive had a quick scout on the googleweb but i cant really find much. Just chavs talking about honda civics and tops speed on motorways! 1/4 Mile 14.3secs 96Mph Terminal 10psi of boost.

If you cars declared top speed is say 150mph then you have to fit tyres rated to do this. I believe it is illegal not to.

It can only be the UK where you're car has to be fitted with tyres that are capable of speeds far in excess of the speed limit. Isambard Kingdom Brunel said:

More important and often overlooked is the load rating. This basically governens the compound. Put tyres on that are rated way above required and you'll have a super hard compound. Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph
