Just got my Mini through the MOT. It has sat in a garage for nearly three years so not surprisingly failed on brakes the first time. New disks and pads sorted it out. However it did come with an advisory:

Made me laugh. It is a standard mini with standard springs and gas spax. Driving it is firm, but not silly.

That is an official advisory, like barely legal tyres, or noisy bearing.

I hadn't noticed the VIN on there.

I got an advisory that my car had been prepared for rally use! they were certainly jumping to conclusions.

I had a similar thing with my Series 3 LandRover last time (nice rusty leaf springs all around), he leant on the front wing, looked at me and said "well I'm not going to be able to test the dampers on this am I......"

No advisory though, he just accepted it for what it was.

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???

I took my passenger seat out so the tester who is old with a dodgy leg would find it easier to get in the back to check the rear belts.
Advisory said "passenger seat belt missing".
Thanks for that, I never noticed lol.
