I've been playing with my ESAB MigCut 250/50 today (well, the plasma cutter bit of it anyway; the welder works perfectly fine), cutting the wings off a Mini Van for flipfront purposes. The thing works fine but only for a few secs, then stops. Airflow continues for another few seconds (probably to cool the head down a bit). Only after that's stopped can I resume. I thought you were supposed to be able to cut for a bit longer than just a few secs? Or is this normal on a (semi) professional plasma cutter?

They do take a steady hand, but it certainly cuts through metal. Maybe not as neat as some videos might suggest, but I'm sure a lot of that is technique. Ive used it to cut a lot of holes and parts on my front suspension cradle ( Granada ) Some parts are maybe 2-3mm thick and others around 8mm thick. So far I am impressed it does cut with ease, but the holes etc do take a little cleaning up after. The only danger I would see, is they do produce a massive shower of sparks behind the cut. So there are obvious fire risks 9.85 @ 145mph
