Well me and Andy dropped the engine into place on the clubby today and were looking at potential intercooler and front rad setups.

Tried a 2WD cossie cooler down where the 3 slots are which looks quite good but will probably need to get the end tanks tweaked.

Here is a link to the pictures of how we see it fitting.

I am looking for comments and suggestions on how it can be better fitted. If anyone has an pics of their clubby and 2WD cossie cooler setups they would be much appreciated.

Cheers,
John

i know me and kean found it a lot easier to fit ours under the slam panel, makes piping easier and then the rad won't be higher then the head either.

i ttried an mpi rad first which turned out to be fooked before i even ran it, then swapped to a metro one with outlets at either end, now running a cinq rad.

i also found an ally strip across those 3 holes to the bottom of the rad helped with keeping the temp down a great deal as the air has to go through the rad and not under the engine now.

the std brackets on the IC, just cut off the upright part of them so that it butts up flat to the bottom of the slam, then straight through with a bolt wither side. also helped stiffen the slam after cutting out the centre brace.

I want to try to keep the standard hinged bonnet and catch so may have to experiment a little.

Pretty sure I originally had the standard catch etc with my intercooler in place John.

I think I'm going to try to replicate your setup Nick. And maybe even stick with bonnet pins.

What coolant hoses did you use? I have a fair selection of metro and mpi hoses.

Quite fancy the cinq rad as it looks pretty efficient, are there different types with the outlets either end or have you gone for the twin pass type?

i used various bits of hashed metro hoses when i had the metro rad.

now with the cinq rad i think i'm still using the steel bottom pipe off the mutro and then a few 90 degree silicon bends. I've also drilled the stat housing holes out and rotated it so the outlet points to the inner wing.

Will see if i can get any useful pics later.
