Shropshire.

I’m after a cheap ish NetBook, i have done a bit of research but hardware isn’t really my thing.. are these any good? (both at £229)

Samsung N130 10.1inch

Asus 1001P 10inch

The latter has the newer N450 processor but from what i have read it offers little gains.

or any another recommendations?

Cheers.

I'd go for the Samsung out of those two. - better build than the ASUS.

I have an NB200-10Z. It was better specced than anything comparable when I got it (nearly a year now). I love the chicklet keyboard, It has a 6 cell battery which lasts about 9 hours of browsing and word processing. It's very well built too.

To be honest, most netbooks are very similarly specced in terms of hardware. Battery life, keyboard size and build quality are probably the only things that matter much

I have the samsung nc10, as netbooks go it's pretty good. When I was looking, the only advise I got was don't buy the Acer Aspire. Apparently they are a little flaky.

I've got an HP/Compaq Mini - had it about a year and wouldn't change it for anything but the newest version. Can't fault it at all, and it's so much better than my Dad's Toshiba it's unreal.

Metric is for people who can't do fractions.

The Samsungs are great netbooks to be honest, probably about the best of the bunch build wise.

The only problem with netbooks is that the screens aren't very big. You can't get enough porn or them imo.

I disagree with this as ASUS generally make a lot of the insides for most companies and the individual companies supply the outers.

For instance, they make lots of Sony and even tha VAIO models.

For me, ASUS is best bet

Asus actually make the motherboards for most Apple products!
