Hi, hope someone can help. I have a v-max scart 265 supercharger cam, ones of the ones Stuart designed for supercharger use, as advertised on his web-site. I know the timing is 110 at full lift number one, but I have been asked by the guy who's fitting it for me what the valve full lift is. Cams and timing is not something I'm very good with/understand much about I'm afraid. I've been try to get hold of Stuart to find out, so I don't delay the guy doing the install, but can't get hold of stuart. So does anyone who may be using this cam know the answer ?.

If he is having to ask what full lift is, then is he qualified to actually be fitting and timing in a cam!?

I have faith in him, hes been a mini engine and gearbox builder for years & builds and maintains a number of grass track mini etc. But this is the 1st one of these cams hes seen I guess so just wants to know what the score is with it. The cam just came in an oiled plastic bag from v-max with no details at all, and the site does not anything either. Hence the need to ask.

The Man Is 100% right the cam should be timed in using a lift at tdc figure this is a far better way of timing a cam in than full lift after TDC.

the timing is 110 deg fulllift on number one inlet push rod,

i would get an 2deg off set key and tell him to time it in at 108 because ....... the chain stretch will occur within a few short miles reverting the timing to 110 deg where it should be ............. instead of 112 where it would be when the chain stretched.

off set keys available from minispares north for a few quid job done!

Many thanks for the info. Forgot to mention that it has a vernier duplex, plus titan 1.5 full roller rockers. Will that make any difference to what you just advised on. Sorry my fault should hae said first.

Yes, you won't need the off-set key.

Cheers for the info. Quick question to make sure I pass on the right info still. With the vernier still set it to 108 degress, to allow for the chain strech, as per Benross's advice ?.
