Hi, hope someone can help. I have a v-max scart 265 supercharger cam, ones of the ones Stuart designed for supercharger use, as advertised on his web-site. I know the timing is 110 at full lift number one, but I have been asked by the guy who's fitting it for me what the valve full lift is. Cams and timing is not something I'm very good with/understand much about I'm afraid. I've been try to get hold of Stuart to find out, so I don't delay the guy doing the install, but can't get hold of stuart. So does anyone who may be using this cam know the answer ?. |

If he is having to ask what full lift is, then is he qualified to actually be fitting and timing in a cam!? |

I have faith in him, hes been a mini engine and gearbox builder for years & builds and maintains a number of grass track mini etc. But this is the 1st one of these cams hes seen I guess so just wants to know what the score is with it. The cam just came in an oiled plastic bag from v-max with no details at all, and the site does not anything either. Hence the need to ask. |

The Man Is 100% right the cam should be timed in using a lift at tdc figure this is a far better way of timing a cam in than full lift after TDC.

the timing is 110 deg fulllift on number one inlet push rod, i would get an 2deg off set key and tell him to time it in at 108 because ....... the chain stretch will occur within a few short miles reverting the timing to 110 deg where it should be ............. instead of 112 where it would be when the chain stretched. i hope iam not confusing you print him this reply out and show the guy it off set keys available from minispares north for a few quid job done! hope this helps |

Yes, you won't need the off-set key. Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph
