Hi all,

I've been offered an LHD '84 MG Metro Turbo. 80K, virtually rust free shell, but dings and scratches all over. Interior good but back seat missing. Sagged suspension. Foreign plates. Original wheels and gearknob missing. Has been sitting for a decade in a dry barn. What would be a fair offer? I would at least try and get it back on the road as they are tax excempt here (cut off date is '87).

thanks

King Gaycharger, butt plug dealer, Sheldon Cooper and a BAC but generally a niceish fella if you dont mind a northerner

If it's a MK 1 then definatly worth buying. Where are you in the world and how rare are they there?

In the Netherlands. Yes, it's a MK1. Very few were sold here to begin with (Metro's in general being way less popular than their continental competitors). And it's LHD which is a bonus here. Going to take a look tonight.

As a guide I know of a fairly rust free MK1 Turbo that rescently sold minus it's engine for £200. One's in need of work, but mainly complete generally fetch £7-800 over here on ebay.

I have a set of MK 1 turbo wheels in need of a refurb if you buy it *wink*

If its a MK1 then an 80's mini knob is the same. If its a MK2 then me and Andy have a couple of them

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

Well mine is in VGC and has done about 50k (i think its in km and i can't remember!) Has the original wheels and had a big engine rebuild before a ten year layup. I paid £1k for it but i know an offer was put in after i bought it for substantially more. Mine is LHD as well.

The MK1s are very rare, i think someone told me there were 30 still registered and 5 on the road!

We the original knob was missing from my Subaru when I bought it. Wen to Subaru to buy one, that'll be £110 please; bought a prodrive one instead.
