Can I put an RTS clutch on without balancing the clutch?

I want to get the car back on the road for a meet next weekend and don't really have time to get it done yet. I will not use it un-balanced if it will have a bad effect or it is unsafe...

this is a good question,

due to the way the verto is made (stamped) they seem to be prone to runout, which causes a problem trying to balence them.

I would say just whack it on. balencing it could be a can of worms.

imo the clutch parts bolted to a fully balanced bottom end should be fine but i would rather balance it as much as possible

I am going to balance mine with just the pressure plate first, then add the flywheel without friction plate and balance that.

In my opinion, you will never get the friction plate in balance, as it runs on the splines of the primary gear with a clearance, and then the primary gear runs on the crank tail with another clearance.

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

I took mine to be balanced, and it was perfectly in balance anyway. *happy*
