Have you got 12v at your coil and the wires the right way round on the distributor module?

Have you got your fuel preasure set at 3.5psi.

Is your dizzy in right way up? It is very easy to get it in 180degrees out so it fires on the wrong stroke - did this myself. Check the plug leads against this pci to test:

my electronic black box on the dizzy is on the right and the vaccum is on the top

just checking 12v at the coil and wires

well when the pump starts my fuel pressure gauge goes up to about 5psi and the regulator does not let me increase or decrease even when i tighten or loosen the nut on the top

How did you manage to get it to create boost? Have you been driving it around?

If it only runs when its on full choke try turning the mixture screw in a couple of turns and maybe the idle screw.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

i know its generating boost because i revved it on the spot and the gauge is going into positive but one problem the engine goes to die now once it is revv'd

i turned the idle screw in a few times and now had to turn it back to lower the idle revs as it was rather high

turned the mixture screw in and now we got the engine runnning i have drove the car back and forth now and it does not need choke to start the smoke is now gone but the engine is extremely hot!

guess it just needs to be timed in now and get it all set up

thanks for all your help

there is nauff a funny smell now!

get your timing set asap, otherwise you risk detonation and wrecking your engine!

Did your bum make a trumpet noise? This could explain the smell.

Hot engines also smell though.

yeah i wont play with the engine any more
it now runs! rather happy about that this has been highly antisipated

well tomorow i got to get the intercooler on and sort out a few more things and then i will tow it down to my mini mechanic and have it all set up

what sort out power do you think can be obtainable with the standard metro set up but with a kNn air filter and a rs intercooler?

Really daft question....you have got a turbo carb or a NA carb converted to use with a turbo?
