First mini turbo to get in the 12's & site perv

Herefordshire

Hello.

Firstly is this a common place to crack a gearbox casing? I dont think its a casting mark, but I could be wrong. Its on the top of the diff housing

And

Are these ARP rod bolts, I think I may have been mistaken. They are 6 years old if that makes any difference to design changes.

Much obliged

Nic

The bolts look like the uprated Mini Spares rod bolt there defently not ARP

And that does look like a crack in the casing Auto Test gearbox crack here all the time.

I find the easiest way is to super glue the bolt to the end of one of my fingers.

Fuck me Nic, I would have thought you would have stress relieved the gear case, or is that not one of yours :)

ARP bolts use a 6 sided nut, are black and have a far better finish on them, I dont recall them being knurled just under the head either.

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be...
So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Ill get some arp ones ordered, these have been holding up 7500rpm well though

The case was std, i was going to use another, got it on the bench to give it some work and spotted a horrible casting mark, picked up this one to go back to it and then spotted the crack.

Damn the slicks!!! They have cost me a fortune in repairs

The slicks cost me alot of money as well Nic! Flywheel, backplate and clutch plate. I'm glad the clutch slipped and saved the box.

Your casing definatly looks cracked.

All ARP bolts say ARP *wink*

If they have a small "Knob" on top of them, they are the uprated Minispares ones that now are discontinued.

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.
