Well iv come to my final position of my intercooler, ill be having it in place of where the grill would originally be, but, because of how thick my intercooler is and the position of the starter solenoid it means the intercooler protrudes about and inch past the bonnet slam panel.

After a little thought got thinking about if it might be an issue with an MOT, due to sharp edges, etc...

I did plan to mesh around the gap between where the original grill would have been, and leave the intercooler open, but if it will be a problem i guess ill have to bulge the mesh to cover the intercooler...

So i was just wondering if anyone has had and problems with this or could see them being funny about it?

I would say that my main concern is that if you were to use the car alot on the road, id be warey of people bumping it when parking etc

not sure how it would stand Re. mot?

I'd be worried about all the hot air from your radiator heating up your charge as it passes.

Is that a transit intercooler?

mine will be out the front like this.
if you using it on the road alot it might be worth putting mesh in front of the cooler anyway as the roads round here are terrible as your proberly know.

I'd say try a bit harder. You should be able to easily fit this further back. Ive got an all steel front and have fitted an intercooler of similar size behind the grille.

Although, you will need to loose the dizzy and std alternator.

Yea i see what your saying, iv already lost the dizzy as its running on megajolt, but the starter motor solenoid is causing me my main issues with getting it closer to the block...

Im not to worried about the charge being heated up as there is quite a bit of clearance between the rad cores and the pipe woke and its all before the charger, if i do get and issues ill make some for of head shield.

Yea i know what your saying mate, the roads are crap round here, when its MOD'd ill bring it up to your work to show you.

Have a look for mattys starter motor mod. You can rotate it so that the solenoid moves closer to the block.

I found it but the pics are missing. I'll see if I've got any pics of mine.

It's just a case of rotating it and drilling tapping a new hole at the top, then making a small bracket to extend the bottom one. It will become obvious when you have a look.

one of matty's slim alternators would probably help too

Near Paris - France

I have looked at rotating the starter but found out that to maximise the result (why do anything if it is not maximised anyway ?) you either remove the transfer case (oily molly !) or use 2 brackets !

That is only what I am planning on doing ...
