Just caught the aftermath while working stupidly late last night. It must have been slightly unnerving

"Why did the wheels come off when they are tethered?" Because the wheel tethers were attached to the part of the upright that broke off.

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

On the BBC's page earlier today http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport...one/8624330.stm (if it's still there now) they had in-car footage of the failure and shortly afterward in-car footage of Vettel's Red Bull taking a practice lap.

Now last year the Torrro Rosso and Red Bull were essentially the same apart from the engine.

If the video is still there look at the difference in sizes of the front suspension components especially the top wishbone assembly.

I know which I would rather have....

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???

The in car footage is brilliant. After the wheels had come off he still tried to steer to miss the barrier. Instinctive, but funny to watch. You can also see the wheels overtake him and then launch into air and over the fencing. Luckily only 2000 people were there so no injuries.

Thinking about this more, if you tether the wheels to the uprights and then tether the uprights to the car, what do you tether the car to *hehe!*
