I remember reading on the manchester minis website and artical about clutches by Turbo Dave mentioned reversing the spring? |

It works fine without one,the plate goes on the bleed nipple

The return spring is just there to pull the clutch arm back all the way to the stop (bolt & lock nut on cover) so the release bearing is clear of the diaphram. -MINI CLUBMAN 1380 TURBO- |

I have spent this evening putting my clutch together - all seems fine.

I can remember years ago having a arm bent up the garage with oxy acet,as the clutch wouldn't release fully (not enough push)
