Right getting closer to getting some paint on my clubby.

It's a 71 so needs to be a retro colour scheme (and an original bmc colour).

I was thinking Antelope Beige, Black Roof with 10" Mini Special alloys with black centres and polished outer rims.

I reckon I can use a chrome finishing strip and get away without arches if I don't want them but am not sure if the car will look right without arches? Does anyone have any suggestions for period arched that won't look out of place?

Some pics below to help people see what I mean.

Antelope Beige Clubby

Mini Specials with black centres

Always open to other suggestions *happy*

Russet Brown isn't early enough Rob didn't show up until 76.

However a Russet Brown Turbo Clubby sleeper is one of my dream cars. *happy*

Too late again, Yukon Grey was a 90's colour.

John.

If I hadn't have painted the van Chartreuse (lime green) with a Snowberry White roof it was going to be Elpasso Beige and a Snowberry White roof as per some of the Works 8 ports.

That would look good on the clubby.

I reckon W&P smooth arches and no rubber edging between the body (needs to be a good fit to do this) would be ok as well - if you need them that is.

Richard.

Minivanless, but reluctantly happy living with the decision. There'll be another one day.

Have a look at wintersurfers car. It's not in the colours you want but has the mini special wheels and no arches.

In the 13's at last!.. Just

John - Yukon grey has 2 paint codes a late 60's early 70's and then a special edition in the 90's i believe..

i like the idea of the brown and balck bits - maybe some wood&picket arches??

Typical! I've just sold a set of Wood n Picketts!

I think I'm going to try it without arches and see how it looks. I can always drill holes for arches *smiley* I've just had a load of wheel arch holes welded up where some knob has fitted about 4 different sets of arches!!!!

I'm suprised the Exactons fit with no arches - afterall the cars they were originally fitted to had the plastic arches. In fact isn't that where the plastic arches first started on production cars?

Possibly tyre choice plays a big part in what you can get away with.
