Hi everyone,
Ive currently got a daily 998 mk1 na, that i was putting megajolt onto, for a bit of a play before it gets turboed later. And im also putting a starlet 4efte engine into another mini.
My main question is about megasquirt on the 4efte as im slowly learning about ecus, and was going to run an adaptronic on my 4efte but found this cheap megasquirt.
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...g#ht_500wt_1182
Would this be okay to use on a 4efte (it has a dizzy off one of the cams) or could i convert it to a trigger wheel and vr sensor for more adjustment?
I know this isnt the right place to ask this, but you guys know what your talking about with this stuff.
Cheers,
Joe

Bit hard to tell from the eBay photo about his/her claims about direct coil fire - I would say not from the photo, the extra transistor hanging loose in the photo seems to be wired to the idle circuit.

But it's certainly an MS2.

It appears to have all the VR circuitry installed so should run a trigger wheel and VR sensor with no problem (may have to move some jumpers inside) but it isn't built for the new 4 chanel sequential code (so far as I can see) so could only run batch injection.

But for ignition only, its should be fine so long as you accept you would need to re-wire it for direct coilpack drive (or keep a dizzy and plain coil).

But photos are deceptive, I would ask the seller where the direct coilpack ignitor chips are in the picture....

I think he might of been meaning to use these http://cgi.ebay.com.au/edis-4-module-and-c...3#ht_500wt_1182 for the coil packs.

I dont trust myself rewiring it for coil on plug (assuming thats what direct coilpack drive is).
Thanks for your help, ive learnt a lot in one post lol.

....same seller.... so, yes, implies he was expecting to wire it to an EDIS module.

Very basic, Megasquirt can do so much more.

A couple of small changes inside and MS2 can drive the coilpack (or COPs) direct without an EDIS module.

But it does need a bit of soldering iron skill :)

I think ill buy an adaptronic for the 4efte. Keep things simple.
Then make my own MS2 board for the a series mini. Once ive stopped being crap at soldering lol.
Thanks again Rod for your help,

Dont adaptronic offer a plug n play for the Starlet ?

202mph standing mile

They have a map for a starlet, but done have a plug in loom for one yet. but I didn't bother taking all of the loom out anyway. So I was going to custom wire the whole car to make sure.
