went out for a blast in my new car just now, and a couple of miles from home the car felt bogged down like there was something in the exhaust, the pressure build up and you couldn't go anywhere, i pulled over and i decided to take the risk and continue slowly home, BANG! my backbox exploded! |

something blocke the tailpipe, and the backbox has exploded open where its joined together, i hope it wasnt the inards of the cat cos that could be expesive, i will check it out sometime in the next day or two. |

I had a backbox explode once in my old 405 Mi16. It was a very hot day and I got stuck in traffic, and as it got hotter and hotter it got grumpier and grumpier, not idling properly, misfiring a bit, got a bit of clear road and gave it a blast to clear it out, pulled up outside where I was going, switched it off, and then shortly afterwards there was an almighty bang and it blew the backbox to bits, unfolded the seam all the way along and blew one of the end plates off as well, there were bits of exhaust wadding everywhere and people coming out of buildings to see what the hell was going on!

i've ordered a cat back rc 40 from minispares now, so i should be mobile again soon, once i've got the pipe off i'll get some pics because its hard to see the damage with it on the car.

well i've fitted the new exhaust, and the old one was in a little bit of state...
