The biting point on my metro is right on the floor. I am 99% sure there is no air in the system. It has a verto clutch, with the verto clutch system and the hydraulic damper. Both the cylinders are old but the damper and braided hose is new.

Any ideas? thanks

I had a similar problem, it was my slave cylinder that was knackered.

Check out the length of the slave cyl. pushrod, you can lengthen this. Also look for wear in the mechanical bits -clevis pins at clutch master cyl.etc.The Midget suffered from this.
