That is the stock Rover pin.
One end looks ok, the other looks damaged.
If the planets show any kind of wear, these need to be replaced... They don't actually cost that much I believe.

Yes you can see it starting to pick up on the LH end.

Seeing as you have gone to the stage of getting it out it would be stupid not to change it for an uprated version. As Dave says genuine planet wheels are fairly cheap.

The pin you have is worn but not bad by any means, I have seen badly worn ones with a groove worn in them to maybe a 1/4 of shaft diameter deep before now.

Here's the rest of the diff:

Just remember as Dave says, to change the planet wheels as well. They WILL be scored on the inside.

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.

See Vegard's picture!!

I think you can now buy planet wheels that have a seperate bush in them rather than them just running plain on the pin. Worth doing while its in bits.

Are they a bit wedgey then? Just remember seeing them last time I bought a Mini magazine ages ago.

Although I did buy one this month to read the feature on TurboPhils car.

Think the last one I bought before that was the one with your car in Dave. Were you still after a copy of that article, can see if I still have it knocking about somewhere if you like.
