yes, it will go, only problem may be getting the main shaft assy in, the A series as a smaller diameter but wider bearing between the 1st and 3rd motion shafts, as a result the case is notched slightly so get it in, can be done to the A+ case with a file. This only applies to the 3sync boxes. Remember that the remote reverse idler won't fit in the rod box. On 13th Jul, 2012 Ben H said:
Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem. |

A mate of me had to enlarge the slot over the 1st motion's bearing to put a 14mm pre-A+ mainshaft into a late A+ gearbox (DAM5626)? http://img384.imageshack.us/img384/2051/dscf0005qu9.jpg - or am I missunderstanding something here? :) But maybe he's lucky and got one of those very late GT boxes with 2 step layshaft & 18mm nose bearing (DAM3168 laygear) :) MiniSpares sell conversion bearings with a sleeve to run pre A+ idler gears with a A+ case. http://minispares.com/Product.aspx?ty=pb&pid=38305 Edited by Asphalt on 26th Apr, 2010. The A mainshaft is indeed longer, but there shouldn't be a problem. I cannot recall I had difficulties at least. On 13th Jul, 2012 Ben H said:

Those 5626 casting seem to 'fluctuate' quite a bit anyway :) There are probably some you get away with, and with some you don't. Interesting. [X] nail here for new monitor |

Im running an A gearset in an A+ box. The cutout doesn't need to be all that big, this is mine.
