Other jobs have been getting in the way but I'm slowly doing bits here and there.

Started making my dash

Finished off some wiring too.

Just waiting for jlay to weld a few bits of alu for me then it's basically ready to start!

More fiddling around with the dash and wiring.

Bloody fidderly wiring the crank sensor, earthed the outer core as per Nodiz' instructions. I heat shrinked it after

looking grate!
i like the dash, do you guys need to comply with safety crap like retaining factory dash boards/interior for passenger safety?
over here they are bringing in yearly road worthy's (mots?) that require a bunch of pics be taken for prof and all sorts of BS.. hopefully it will be not to bad.

Nope, despite people complaining of the MOT`s over here in my opinion they are very lenient.

To be honest it hadn't even crossed my mind about modifying the interior!

As Sam says, I've never heard of rules like that before.

It does worry me slightly how much I've chopped the shell about, I've loved doing this project and god knows what id do if it was deemed un roadworthy!

Been busy

Thanks to James barcham, jlay for the ally welding

I've used a mini van fuel sender and re bent the float so it mounts in the top. My tanks. 140 high and it's just got enough range I cut that ring at work with the cut out so you can fiddle it inside the tank. With a counter sunk m3 screw holding it in place

James welded the adapters for the Teflon hose fittings

Bit of rubber between these mounts to absorb some engine vibration

Getting there slowly

Stainless replacement for the bimetallic strip that adjusts fueling when hot. Have been advised it can play havoc when Dyno tuning so have installed the stainless one while it's set up and running in.

Re rebuilt my carb with metro turbo challenge pipe and 1/8 npt fittings

Looks awesome! Loving the bimetallic strip mod! Was looking into this a while back and emailed the guy who made the upgrades. How did you make yours?

Regarding the Magnets for the oil circuit... Get the magnetic oil temp sump plug from minisport -
http://www.minisport.com/c-mad004-mini-spo...mp-takeoff.html

Buy the magnet for the back of the gearbox - http://www.minisport.com/c-aht54trap-magnetic-oil-trap.html

And buy this - http://www.minisport.com/magmf001-magnom-a...ation-unit.html

Then break some computer harddrives, get the neodymium magnets and stick them to the outside of the oil filter

Cracking away doing all the little things which unfortunately aren't great for pictures but here's a few more anyway

Polished

Polished (clear pipe to check level)

Totally exhausted doing this build

Trigger wheel fixed in place with a roll pin

This is going at the bottom of the down pipe controlled for the time being by a choke cable

As it stands

What are you doing with that larger outlet? Are you going to put any more pipework on there, or just let it dump to under the car? Just thinking about exhaust gases getting in the cabin

Yes I have it pointing at the ground, it's operated via a choke cable so can shut it when stationary.

I hadn't thought about exhaust gas to be honest, that's a valid point. I'll see how it goes but hopefully with it being right under the car and me not having many holes in the bulkhead, the gas will be kept out.

I was working on the basis of screamer pipes on jap cars, so didn't see problem. I'll let you know how it goes.... If it doesn't kill me

My uncle has something similar to that on his TVR, it's switch operated and opens an outlet on the downpipe. Not sure about performance gains but it doesn't half sound good!

I'm pretty sure his is at the font of the engine and you can't smell the exhaust fumes any more than normal with it open.

Yeah I wanted to do something abit more technical like have a switch triggered by the nodiz' aux output at say 3k to open the valve.

But I'm worried the restricted exhaust will hinder boost building up before 3k ?
