Dave, I was wondering how you got on with the pretty little heater you knocked up?

Car looks great by the way

Thanks jack, I have to say the heater works very well. Obviously it only blows warm air at your legs but heat rises so I guess it will work!

Unfortunately the cars not quite on the road I had been saving my next update for it being finished! Haha busy at work and slowly buying a house is taking up a lot of time.... anyway

Have a new solution for controlling the exhaust valve!! Because of the ratchet in the gear shifter it locks it shut much better

Made a metro cable arm fit , its made the clutch 30%lighter I'd say

Had an oil leak out the came chain cover breather

Had a few problems at the dyno with the nodiz so have bought an omex and will be returning in the next week or so. Hopefully motd in time for IMM

Cheers

I don't want to slate the nodiz too much on here.. we experienced lag with the software. This could have been due to my nodiz unit being an older one along with the old software. I think its the software that let's the nodiz down. The ecu worked fine. I'm not sure the Bluetooth is the best option either, creates another thing to go wrong and disconnect. However its a neat idea with the android dash.

Very nice build !

What's your inlet manifold from ?
As far as I can tell, it's not a Metro turbo item but surely looks OEM.

Rusty by nature

It's a naturally aspirated MG Metro one.

Wahoo Gordon is on the road!!

Dynod yesterday at ATSpeed racing in rayleigh Essex.

140bananas topped off with 160 curly wurlys! Peaking at 14psi

It made 95hp at 6psi

Set up and running perfectly on a omex 200

Unfortunately it appears my exhaust is quite restrictive as the power falls off a cliff around 5k with the exhaust valve open the power stayed for a little longer and gained 10peak bananas so I'm gunna get a full 2" system made

Spec roughly is
Fully rebuilt
1293 with cast 21253 pistons
Ported head (by myself)
Chamber roofs machined down
9.1-1 cr
Rts lightened clutch and flywheel with metro cable arm
Custom exhaust manifold
Gt17 turbo
Renault 5 turbo uprated intercooler
Golf mk1 rad
Nippon denso alternator
Straight cut drop gears
Cross pin diff

The spark plug lead ends are now plain

Genuinely couldn't be happier with the car, it's made every hour of work worth it

See you at IMM I'll be with the Essex mini club

Very nice. Would go for an sc box with that torque though.

Cheers guys.

It's dark blue on the outside lol with black arches

Yeah I need a sc box, to be honest I didn't plan on running that much power.... But I couldn't tell them to turn the boost down!

Just went through this thread , I remember it from a while back . Its a real credit to you . Top skills and a top car :) it's given me motivation to put my engine back in today and funny enough I have a metro cable arm to fit as well . Was it much work to make fit ?
