you can block the oil pressure relief valve, and divert the oil to above the primary, i think harry tried pressure feeding the idler bearings a few years back, but has since completely re-engineered it, terry is trying replacing the thrusts with radial roller bearings, and there is someone else im missing, but cant remember who?

Hi Jan, The usual approach to this is a bit of a different set up. It uses a fixed shaft and tapered roller bearings in the gear itself. Fairly simply and highly effective (I've never heard of one of these giving any trouble). Cheers On 17th Feb, 2009 Rob H said:

But the MED setup is a Roller Bearing Mowog seems to be refering to some kind of gear with a number of Tapered Roller bearings!! in the gear

What is this better than two roller bearings as standard? Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph

Cheers, Jan Yeah, much like that but not quite like those above, except that pinyandnobrain has put up, I think that's a JKD version but straight cut. We do our own using the helicals and two taper rollers for street use. I am not sure if anyone has these 'off the shelf' these days, but I think someone did do them at one time. With the pre-A+ stuff, we do it when we get around the 85 - 90 Fly HP mark and for A+ around the 100 - 105 HP. Edited by mowog on 28th Apr, 2010. |

I have run standard helicals with 100lbft and im sure Robert is still running standard helicals with 180lbft. Now lets be honest, its the torque that really matters

id say up around 200 to 210 lbs/ft with the intercooler working colin.
Medusa + injection = too much torque for the dyno ..https://youtu.be/qg5o0_tJxYM |
