Water Heated, are they needed on n/a engine or is it just better to leave it connected. Trying to rid the engine bay of anything that isnt required or what can be hidden elsewhere.

opinions vary but i reckon its best to disconnect, you need the fuel/air as cold as possible, its redhot around that area to start with, why make everything hotter? unless you live somewhere really cold constantly, then it will be a benefit to leave it connected. 133.5 bhp 123 lb torque 116mph @6640rpm 9.5psi

On a car that is used all year round I might consider connecting it up. Many years ago I had first hand experience of the carb freezing up whilst going up the A1 (very cold night). Shortly after that I plumbed in my manifold - no more troubles. This was on a car that I used to do 20k miles a year in. I don't bother on my current mini, only used on high days and holidays! |
