Water Heated, are they needed on n/a engine or is it just better to leave it connected. Trying to rid the engine bay of anything that isnt required or what can be hidden elsewhere.

In the garage......again!!

opinions vary but i reckon its best to disconnect, you need the fuel/air as cold as possible, its redhot around that area to start with, why make everything hotter? unless you live somewhere really cold constantly, then it will be a benefit to leave it connected.

Gateshead

On a car that is used all year round I might consider connecting it up. Many years ago I had first hand experience of the carb freezing up whilst going up the A1 (very cold night). Shortly after that I plumbed in my manifold - no more troubles. This was on a car that I used to do 20k miles a year in. I don't bother on my current mini, only used on high days and holidays!
