Hi guys
I have fitted new inner wings and hinge panels and was wondering do you have to trim some of the metal off the lips before welding on the a panels, as there seems to be quite a big overhang. Does anyone have any experience of fitting them?
Thanks
Sam

King Gaycharger, butt plug dealer, Sheldon Cooper and a BAC but generally a niceish fella if you dont mind a northerner

Offer up you a panel and see how big the gap is. If it won't clamp up easily with maul grips etc then you will need to trim it a bit.

I put a section of one into my car and found it to be a couple of mm out, but I guess every car is different.

YES
i jsut made the mistake of not checking it (silly i know) and had to grind 1/4" off the a panel to get the door to shut...

bolt the door on (lined up in the door hole) with the hinge pannel and try the a panel on it and jiggle hinge (flitch) panel in/out to get the right line down the door/ a panel you may even have to rebed the lip where the a panel fits.

this is how it looks so far:-

I think that I need to make some room towards the rear of the door. To do this will I need to bend the hinge panel forward slightly? Once I make the space at the back I will probably need to remove a bit from the flange at the front.
