We couldn't resist taking a little vid of the rolling road session on Wednesday.

We do get involved in some "interesting" projects - this will be one of the most expensive cars we'll ever have to fit fuel injection to tune for many a year!

If Carling made Mini engines
it would probably be like this one!

Nice!

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

I like the hat and goggles!

I wonder if you will start getting a lot of these now?
I know of someone who does fabrication and bodywork on these vintage things that get used for rallies (i.e the stuff across deserts) and he can get quite a few a year.
The amount they spend is another level, but I suppose its relative compared to the cost of the car

Yeah, I liked that too! Notice he didn't drive (swim?) off very fast! Wonder if he remembered to put the paddles on *oh well*.

I must be getting old - I remember these in service!

EFA Of course it wasn't paddles on the Stooly - they had props.
These are what had paddles mounted on the FDs (said I was getting old - the memories going):

Sorry getting off topic here - always like modern technology being applied to old kit!

yes this car is a "real" one that is owned by Alvis and was used to develop the tooling to make the repo cars, with any new car going through small volume type approval it needs to pass emissions regs, hence needs FI and cats. The base engine is being re-cast as was in 1937 but with different crank/rods pistons to give circa 10:1 comp over the 1930's 5:1. Its a bonkers project but good to be part of.

Excellent! As payment you should ask them to cast some custom a-series blocks for you *tongue*
