Hi,
I'm getting a quite rough idle at 900 RPM on my 998 A+ (flat pistons) with g295 and md266. Above it seems to run better, even though I still have to map everything.
What's your experience ?
I changed the head and the cam, the rest of the engine was running a very smooth idle with SW5 and std modified 9.3:1 CR head.

I'm not using that cam, but something similar, with a 12G295 head and get a nice smooth idle.

With 260/270 duration, you should be able to sort it out.

Try a little more advance at idle.

Presumably this is with your own ECU and MPi injection?

Yes with my MPI ECU. Same stuff as before except I used Delphi 50lb injectors (I think they are similar to the 1.3 MPi ones), the old were a bit small for targeted 100hp.
I tried to play with the advance and it does not change things a lot. I'll check the advance timing today.
The setup seems to idle better with a leaner mixture, around 14 AFR. The MAP is higher as before which seems logical, there is less actual compression.

Besides the car runs well with old maps, even if it's too rich/lean. I made a short try today.

Paul, would you share your ignition map please ? Screenshot if possible. The car smells overheated mixture and heats a lot.

mine is running a 266 idle is fine.

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.
VEMS + 12 PSI + Liquid Intercooler = Small Bore FUN!
