Well i stuck my colourtune on today to get the fueling roughly set up before i get the car on the rollers, but however i adjust the mixture screw the engine still runs the same and the spark colour doesnt change.

i tried blipping the throttle to see if that would make the adjust ment more apparent, but nothing, iv would the adjuster all the way in and out but it doesnt change anything.

The idle control adjuster is working properly...

So has anyone got any idea what the problem could be?

ive not had many sucessful results with my colourtune, have long since written it off as a bad investment that should have died with the 70'S

Whats the story with the carb, rebuilt? hif44? any work done on e bimetalic strip?
New seat, jet, fitted correctly?

Thanks for the reply, the carb came off a running turbo engine (HIF44), that i personally removed. And all i have done is fit it straight on my engine, but whenever i turn the adjustment needle nothing seems to change and the engine still runs the same...

The fact that it came from a running engine, and runs on yours does not mean it didnt adjust on the other engine either, if you get me?

Take the carb off, take off the bowl plate and you can see if the mechanism moves at all when you turn the screw.
you may see the seat move if you just take the dash pot off, i cant remember!!

Is your regulator able to pass enough fuel back through return? I may be that if the return is at its limit, it has set the minimum fuel pressure at a point that is overcomming any fine adjustment.
Is there fuel comming out of the seat with the pump on and the dashpot removed?

Yes tom just remove the dash pot and and lifter and you can see the seat moving up and down when you turn the screw,

Secondly, put the color tune in the bin..........then set the bin on fire.............then shoot the bin whilst its alight. *Shooting*

Ok well i got round to taking the dash pot off today, and it appears the seat isnt moving atall when i turn the adjuster screw... (well i presume im looking at the correct part that should be moving, where the needle passes through?)

I did try to take the carb off, but wouldnt get to the bottom bolt under the choke lever... ill take the inlet off when i get the chance and do it that way. when i get it off what sort of thing should i bee looking at to be broken?

I can't see why you couldn't unbolt this one, just pull your choke at max, and it will be easier.
