so iv dropped on a metro turbo but will be doing a few little mods,
spec would be as follows:
Metro turbo unit with all ancileries
avonbar actuator to alow upto 10psi
front mount intercoller to replace part of the grill + required pipe work
Maniflow full exhaust system inc down pipe
bailey dump valve, cant remem the modle but was around £80 (part recirc part external)
Xpin diff
Straight cut drops
4 core rad
molcal oil cooler
Avon bar supplied road race clutch + fly wheel

think thats all im going to do,
Questions:
1) Will i need to get the carb needle worked?
2) will i need the dizzy to be re worked?
3) will the mechanical fuel pump have enough pressure to fuel over the standard 4psi seting?
4) on paper what power would it run with these modification
5) will just an x pin diff be sufficient? as im on a budget and cant stand sccr box when in regular use around my local area

Thanks
dog

oooooh i love a good old straight cut dirty billy burn out, hahaha

fuel pump wise you need to have an electric pump and a fuel pressure regulator as per the metro turbo

The general concensus is that the oil cooler isn't necesary. Fit an oil temp gauge and add a cooler later on if you find you need it.

S/C drops will make more noise than a s/c box.

Personally I would junk the dizzy and run megajolt mapped igniton, then get it on a rolling road to get the fueling and ignition setup properly.

Unless you are lucky it is likely that the Metro engine will want a rebuild.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

I dont mind the noise of straight cuts, i was on about gear ratio, id like to keep the standard ratio, but improve the diff so i dont blow anything up.
sorry i wans't very clear in my questions.
Mega jolt would be awsome, but im on a budget :(
Electric fuel pump, so the metros didn't use the mechanical pump?
Looks like i better keep saving then.

thanks for the advice people,

This thread isn't conclusive but gives you an idea.

Also Turbo phil's site is good:-

My motto seems to have been decide what you are going do and how much you are going to spend then double it at least!

Do you have the whole metro? If so all the pump and regulator fitted willl be fine for more boost that you'll ever need.

One of the advantages of megajolt is that you can adjust the ignition map yourself in a few minutes. With a dizzy you have to pull it out and mess with weights and springs, usually letting the tuner do that and take a good lump of your money for the priviledge.

You would also get £50 notes for the turbo dizzy towards your MJLJ.

Also if you have the complete metro, lets see some pictures of it before you bust it open.
