To re insure the metro it is going to cost £1400 mods declared and fully comp. I paid £1600 the year before but can't afford to pay that much again. This is with HIC, is there any other companys which insure young drivers? or any ways around it?

Put a parent on as a second driver may bring it down abit.

Is TPFT a option?

Christ! You cant be much older then me.

I thought 700 pounds on a mini with the usual "performance" changes was a lot.

IIRC Lancaster were willing to offer classic car insurance to under 21s. Worth a try.

If HIC say £1400 then maybe that's what it costs, that's a 15% saving on last year, not so bad.

Can you limit the mileage, that can bring down the cost.

Insurance has gone up with all the global financial problems of the last 12-18 months.

Wifey's insurance on her Civic went up £2-300 because HSBC had messed up their policies the year before.

Have you tried a classic policy? Or give flux a go and as StagMag says, add a parent on as a named driver... that can knock tons off.

Bored one day, asked how much my Metro was. Limited milage was cheaper than my Transit!

Edit; But then...I'm old!
