I'm off to view a mini tonight for a replacement for my daily runner.
It's a 1971 cooper s 1275 tax exempt with 36k original miles on clock
He says it's rust and problem free and looks mint from photos he's emailed me.
From the deal we've worked out I will be paying £3-3500.
Just wondered if this was a decent price as I can't see any others for a price comparison

pull the floor carpets back and have a good look at the condition of the floor pans especially the front footwells ,
if you dson't know what your looking for you could be spending a lot of cash on a pig, on the other hand if its a real genuine minter it could be money well spent,

Check for over sills (about 9" long) they just hide horrors, rear boot corners, door bottoms, where the wings and front panel meet, skuttle corners etc etc

Yeah will be going and pulling it apart tonight. As I'm after one that is solid as I've bought some dogs in past and spent alot of time welding them back together for restoration projects.
It's the values of these that I'm not sure of as I've only bought project cars previously.

take a hammer, and say "is there any filler anywhere? cause i will find it!!" lol

Well i went and had a look, its was a right dog, rust everywhere, seats torn, water in passenger footwell, one hinge of door had come off so door was a bit bent from all the banging. worst of all it was labeled up as a cooper s and it was a gt lol.
Chassis was sound but needed a lot of tlc, definetly not worth the 3k he was asking for it :$

Whereabouts are you and what are you looking for - does it have to be an early Mini?

I've just been sent some photos of a '93 car that is up for sale for £2500 and it looks tidy. Located in Bradford.

I am in sheffield. Im basically after something for an everyday run about and future turbo project.
Trouble is im trying to sell my car at the moment so its a little frustrating
