H, My first post to the forum. I've just completed a mini turbo conversion over the weekend and am looking for a pin out diagram of the ecu. I have searched high and low and can't find one. I need to know what each plug on the connector does. I do have a diagram to hand but the colours on the plug dont match to the colours on the diaram.

swap the gear box keeping the bigger bearing on the first motion shaft and junk the ecu. it's just an electronic bleed valve, not needed in a mini. job done. On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:

Just blank the pipe from the turbo and have more boost. You'll want more soon anyway, boost is adictive

its more for economy. i am going to wire a switch into the ecu to get it to bleed when below 4500rpm aswell. i just need to basics of the wiring to wire it in and then work out how the ecu works. cheers. |

If you are going to do that cut the ECU out of the equation and just use the Metro solenoid wired to a switch.
If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of. |

It doesn't work that way, it's pre programed to bleed at the factory setting. All you would do is turn it on/off with a switch. On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:

i thought the ecu would pulse the solenoid to allow 8psi? surely if the solenoid was left open this would in reality be the same as disconnecting the wastegate and blocking the pipes off?? |

going to go to halfords to see if they have a haynes metro manual... maybe the pinouts are in the wiring diagram in that.. |

This is true. However I am only quoting what mine did. Valve closed 4psi, valve open almost 8psi.

The pinouts are on the web somewhere (seen them before) so save your money. If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of. |

The Austin and MG Metro Haynes has the wiring diagram but unless the schematic of the ECU module is drawn to match the connector (unlikely) it won't help as there are no pin numbers. If you have that part of the Metro loom you could probably work it out from the wire colours in the Haynes but even that will be tricky as they've used two white wires...... Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ??? |

Fab, the ERA one misses the second white wire which goes to the boost guage on a Metro. If the ECU is from a Metro it would be hard to know which "white" connection to use without an original Metro loom to trace which one went to the coil (12V in) and which one went to the guage Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ??? |
