Hi all

Im getting my first turbo mini on the road and was wondering where is the best place to measure boost

When i measure it from the plenum or the comp housing of the turbo im getting 13 psi but when measured from the inlet manifold im getting 5psi.

Is it normal to lose this much pressure across the carb?

Any help will be greatly appriciated

Always measure from the manifold as this is the boost that your engine is running.

As for the dramatic drop between plenum and inlet I can't answer that.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

As above, manifold. What actuator/turbo are you running?

In the 13's at last!.. Just

Were you measuring boost at full throttle? If not, you will get a difference between plenum pressure and manifold pressure.

Im running a garrett t2 with the standard internal actuator but slightly bigger internals

Both measurements where made at full throttle
Even when boost is increased to 20 psi at turbo im still only getting 6-7 psi at the engine
Carb seems to be either restricting the flow or bleeding it but have just done a seal kit in the carb as well

are you actually measuring from the manifold, or one of the hose barbs on teh carb?
