i have a 1275 mini italian job, my friend has a 1.5 civic, and my other friend has a saxo vtr. As you can probably guess we have very heated arguements about our cars... wanted to know your thoughts on performance and relibilty ect?

During a-level design lessons of a 35minute lesson 20 minutes would be spend buggering about, and about 15 minutes would be spent slating the mini. Even the teacher was by the end.

4 years on, and people I see still say, how are you? shortly followed by hows the mini?

Mini will have worst performance, refinement and reliability.

Civic 1.5 will be the most refined and reliable.
Saxo VTR will be the quickest.

Not much to debate really.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

Unfornunately the banter, never stops. It just involves faster cars.

The argumets about whats quickest with us are now, corvette vs crx vs turbo mx5. I may secretly turbo the crx when the mini is back on the road and nail all of them!

I remember those convos in the days of the first car, also associated with who crashed this week.

Im always bantering about cars and speed, heres what would be quite cool to own! cheap car thats quick with potential for more power

subaru legacy twin turbo

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Subaru-Legacy-B4-RSK...=item20b0b25b76

thats expensive BUT you can usually pick them up for under £1500

EDIT: my mate has a focus rs (old style) he was 19 when he got it and it has 308bhp he is now 20... always bantering about his car and drag racing, he managed to get 14.6 seconds with 305bhp

That generation of Legacy is an awful drug deal mobile over here. I love older and newer Legacies but I would not be seen dead in one of those, especially in white

You can't beat a mini for the suprise factor. Pissed off plenty of people in 'fast' cars.

Joe upset an evo in the 7 porter, which was fun, if a little scary with the torque steer problems he had at the time.

In the 13's at last!.. Just
