My mini is taking a bit of a spanking recently, so I am considering taking it off the road for a while and getting everything sorted out.

Ex GF had an N reg 1.0 Polo. Bombproof, nothing ever went wrong with it. Just watch out for rust on older VW's.

i ran a rover 200SDi as a daily hack for the last few years, all it needed was brakes and tyres, and jsut flew though another MOT, very cheap motoring as no-one wants rovers! wee boost tweak and home made "chip" and it was pretty nippy too! turbo 16v k-series 11.9@118.9 :)

Is it purely for a runabout, or do you want a specific type of car ?

My first thought was a Golf or Polo as I had always thought they were pretty failproof, which is what I want really - something which wont break down every month!
